15 Things Everyone Does When Daylight Saving Time Ends
An extra hour of sleep and a whole week of confusion.

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of November, and clocks in most of the U.S. "fall back" one hour. You'd think one hour wouldn't matter. You'd be wrong.
1.You plan to use the extra hour for something amazing
Yoga. Meal prep. Finally reading that book. Instead you sleep through it and somehow still feel tired.
2.You wake up and have no idea what time it actually is
Your phone says one thing. The microwave says another. The car is in a completely different time zone of its own.
3.The car clock stays wrong until spring
You know how to change it. Probably. It'll be right again in March anyway, so why fight it?
4.It's pitch black at 5 p.m. and you're ready for bed
You leave work, look up at the dark sky and your body says "pajamas." It's not even dinnertime.
5.You do the "is it 7 or is it really 8?" math all week
Every time you look at a clock, you add or subtract an hour in your head just to be safe. Then you get it wrong.
6.Your pets have not been informed
The dog wants breakfast at the old time. The cat is yelling at the door at 5 a.m. Nobody in this house reads the news.
7.You argue about whether it's "spring forward" or "fall back"
Then someone says it out loud slowly and everyone nods like they knew all along.
8.Someone shows up an hour early to something
Usually church, brunch or a kid's soccer game. They're very well rested and very confused.
9.You suddenly start eating dinner at 4:30
It's dark, you're hungry and honestly the early-bird special is starting to make a lot of sense.
10.The oven clock becomes the house's official time
It's the one clock everyone trusts, even though nobody remembers setting it.
11.You say "it feels like midnight" at 8 p.m.
Then you say it again at 8:15. And 8:30. You're in bed by 9 and thrilled about it.
12.Morning people are suddenly unbearable
"It's so bright when I wake up now!" Yes, we know. Please stop telling us.
13.You Google why we even do this
And you're not alone. Fun fact: Hawaii and most of Arizona skip daylight saving time altogether, and they seem perfectly fine.
14.Your sleep schedule takes a week to recover
One hour shouldn't wreck you. And yet here you are on Thursday, still yawning at your desk.
15.By the time you adjust, it's basically Thanksgiving
And then it's the holidays, and then it's spring, and then we do this whole thing again in reverse.
